I'm Eric, raised in southern California and then slowly made my way up the west coast to my current home in Eugene. I work in the Richmond research group at U of Oregon where I spend my days thinking about water - how water reacts with small molecules, and what makes every molecule unique when it's put near life's most necessary substance. Water is amazing, and I'd love to tell you all about it!

Recently I married my wife Lynne, and at lunch I often get to bike down to her office to hang out! On days when I'm not writing software or straining my brain, I spend most of my time gardening, enjoying my chickens, working on my house, playing ultimate frisbee, or trying to get out of town to enjoy the great outdoors! Eastern Oregon is one of my favorite places for hiking and fishing, so getting out to work with locals at the many schools is a special treat. The past two years I've worked with the teachers at West Park elementary in Hermiston, and Pilot Rock elementary. This is my third year as a GK-12 fellow, and I'm already looking forward to my several trips out to help the teachers of Oregon's schools integrate more science and have fun doing it!
